Using our simple guide, you’ll prep ingredients, dressings, sauces, and meats for recipes that we’ve lovingly adapted and paired together to reuse ingredients and componentsβ€”minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency so you’re not eating the same boring thing nightly! You’ll find the rest of your week is set up for success.

With our easy to follow recipes, and the prep work you’ve completed on your Main Day, dinner comes together quickly so there’s no stress getting a beautiful and exciting meal plated for you and your loved ones.

Why main day meals?

Our meal plans, complete with weekly shopping lists (that include an Instacart option) and easy to follow recipes, are carefully tested and maximize efficiency through Main Day prep so it saves you time when you go to pull together dinner.

Save money avoiding expensive subscription boxes, takeout, and delivery. And since we reuse ingredients and components, you can buy less ingredients and larger quantities of ingredients at a lesser cost per serving.

We meticulously craft each week’s meal plan so that ingredients and meal components are reused from recipe to recipe to reduce food waste (and occasionally have recipes that use up food scraps) but maximize different flavor combos.

Minimize Waste

Every meal prioritizes protein and vegetables, and nutritional info, including macros, is included with every recipe for the week so you can achieve your nutritional goals.

Cook Healthy recipes

You choose the type and quality of your ingredients weekly from your local grocery store. Meal subscription services fall short in freshness and it’s hard to know where (and when) ingredients were sourced.

FAQs

  • This is the day of the week you choose to do your prep work for the week! Tasks include chopping vegetables, prepping meats, making sauces, dressings, and/or spice mixtures, and some light cooking so meals during the week are more of an assembly line than heavy duty cooking.

    If you have a traditional job, Saturday or Sunday mornings are a great time to get this prepped for the week. We recommend doing your Main Day earlier in the morning or afternoon, so you can clean up and have a break if you’re planning to make a dinner that night (and if you don’t have an Instant Pot, you may also need to give yourself time to start something in your slow cooker).

  • Of course this varies, but if you set out your ingredients before making each recipe on your Main Day, this should take a maximum 1 - 1.5 hours. Estimated time is included for each Main Day Prep.

    This is a great time to get your kids, friends, or spouse involved with helping you grab things, chop things, and clean up to help make this even faster!

  • Our recipes default on 4 people per meal but can easily be halved or multiplied as needed! Meal plans currently begin with 5 meals per week with monthly or annual plans available.

    Your next week of meals becomes available every 7 days.

    Meal plans are currently omnivore with one vegetarian meal included per week, but stay tuned as we add more options!

  • Main Day Meals loves leftovers for another easy lunch or dinner! We recommend keeping the recipe at 4 servings for 2 people for another easy lunch or dinner.

    Recipes default on 4 servings, and some meals utilize components of prior meals. Increased measurements to provide extra servings for other meals are included, and which components to reserve for another meal are denoted in the recipe.

  • We offer meals in a variety of cuisines that vary from week to week. We love to introduce our customers to new flavors and ingredients found in your local grocery store!

    We do not currently have a way to select between weeks (feature coming soon).

    You can easily change out the protein you’d like for your meals, and of course, you get to remove/add/substitute ingredients when grocery shopping to tailor recipes exactly how you like them. That’s part of the fun of cooking yourself!
